I The Knife sono due fratelli originari della Svezia: Olof e Karin Drejer formano il gruppo nel 1999; realizzano il primo brano “Afraid of you” nel 2000 e nel 2001 esce l’album di debutto per la loro etichetta, la Rabid Records. Nel 2003 vengono nominate per due Grammy, uno come migliore gruppo pop e l’altro per il miglior album, DEEP CUTS, boicottando però la cerimonia e inviando al loro posto due persone vestite con un costume da gorilla per testimoniare la commercializzazione dell’industria musicale. Nel 2006 esce il terzo disco SILENT SHOUT, seguito da TOMORROW, IN A YEAR nel 2010. Nel 2013 è atteso il nuovo disco, SHAKE THE ABITUAL.
