Ian Hunter, dopo aver abbandonato la glam band per antonomasia nel 1974, non ha mai smesso di pubblicare a lnum o di andare in tour, continuando la tradizione che voleva i Mott The Hopple come miglior live band degli anni ’70. Ian Hunter ha sempre scongiurato qualsiasi reunion, proseguendo a testa alta una carriera solista ricca di successi. Man Overboard del 2009, consacra 25 anni di musica dopo l’uscita dai Mott The Hopple: il primo album a nome Ian Hunter risale al 1975, al quale sono seguiti molti altri lavori tra studio e live.
