A multi-instrumentalist and composer, Kamasi has distinguished himself worldwide. His spirit is the home of a perfect blend of avant-garde style, talent, reworking and innovation that have made his albums among the most acclaimed of this century. 2020 was the year he became co-founder of Dinner Party in which he collaborated with longtime friends such as Terrace Martin, Robert Glasper, and 9th Wonder: their EP DinnerP arty (Dessert) was later nominated for a Grammy for best progressive R&B album. An incredible rise that has seen him share stages around the world with such giants of the international music scene as Kendrick Lamar, Florence + the Machine, Herbie Hancock-with whom he will curate the Hollywood Bowl Jazz Fest for the second year in a row-and many others. Not only a leading figure in music, but in his career he has also dressed the role of director with As Told To G/D Thyself, a short film in which songs from Heaven and Earth, his 2018 album, took shape, which debuted at the 2019 Sundance Film Festival to wide acclaim.
