I These New Puritans si formano in Inghilterra nel 2006. Il gruppo è formato da Jack Barnett, suo fratello gemello George, Sophie Sleigh-Johnson e Thomas Hein. La capacità di esibirsi dal vivo attira l’attenzione della stampa britannica; inoltre lo stilista di Christian Dior Hedi Slimane chiede a Barnett di comporre una colonna sonora per la sua collezione del 2007. Il brano è “Navigate navigate” che è contenuto nell’Ep d’esordio della band, che anticipa il disco BEAT PYRAMID (2008). L’album successivo HIDDEN viene realizzato nel 2010, dopo l’abbandono della band da parte di Sophie Sleigh-Johnson, esce il nuovo disco FIELD OF REEDS (2013).
