Il disco di debutto, a cui si aggiungono altri musicisti, è DEAD CAN DANCE del 1984; nello stesso anno esce garden of the arcane delights. Spleen and ideal arriva nel 1986, mentre Into The Labyrinth viene realizzato nel settembre 1993. Dopo la pubblicazione del disco solista di Lisa Gerrard, nel 1998 il gruppo pianifica un nuovo lavoro, che però non viene realizzato poiché i Dead Can Dance si separano prima. Seguono una serie di raccolte, finché il gruppo non si ritrova nel 2005 per una serie di show in Europa.
Nel 2011, dopo una serie di voci, esce la prima parte dell’Ep Live Happenings, seguita dalla parte 2 e 3 a gennaio 2012. ANASTASIS, dopo 16 anni dall’ultimo lavoro, esce invece nel 2012.
